Jim Kuddes turned his love of comedy into a business.

However, it wasn’t always a money making venture.

The Fremont-based comic, known by his stage name Jim K, started in 1993 at open mic comedy nights.

“The first five years it was for fun, more of a form of therapy,” he said before performing at the weekly Duffy’s Comedy Workshop in Lincoln. “People kept hounding me that I needed to go on the road, so I decided to try it.”

We’re perfectly willing to praise our president when he deserves it.  President Obama’s speech in Tuscon set a good tone and he said the right words.  “Rather than pointing fingers or assigning blame, let us use this occasion to expand our moral imaginations, to listen to each other more carefully, to sharpen our instincts for empathy, and remind ourselves of all the ways our hopes and dreams are bound together,” Obama said.
